Launching a digital wallet for one of Peru’s largest economic groups wasn’t just about creating a new digital product — it meant redefining how millions of people relate to and interact with something deeply sensitive: their money. The challenge was to build the experience around a comprehensive value proposition, capable of articulating a financial ecosystem that was attractive, accessible, and relevant. The goal: to establish the wallet as one of the most important players in the country’s fintech industry, becoming the primary payment solution across Grupo Intercorp’s ecosystem of companies.

What is our role, and how do we operate?

From the very beginning, we acted as strategic partners in building SIP, working alongside the client through the full end-to-end process with continuous support: from executing strategy, conducting research, and developing a deep understanding of the user, to designing the digital product and participating in the development and scalability of the technology front. We operate under a co-creation model, integrating multiple squads and working groups, building an application with a robust ecosystem and a comprehensive design system that allows the platform to scale in an agile and consistent way over time.

What impact has it had on the business?

Building a digital wallet for a giant like Intercorp will always be a challenge. SIP (launched in March 2026) redefines the financial experience by consolidating an ecosystem that includes payments, transfers, cards, savings, financing, insurance, and benefits into a single new platform — creating a more relevant and compelling value proposition for the market. This marks a before-and-after moment for the group, positioning Intercorp as a key competitor in a disruptive, highly competitive landscape, as it aims to capture millions of recurring users as active customers.
