The Challenge
ISIL wanted to transform one of the most critical and traditional points in the education recruitment journey: the vocational aptitude test. The challenge was to turn an experience perceived as long, tedious, and largely irrelevant into an engaging, agile, user-centered digital tool — one capable of generating value both for prospective students and for the institution’s business goals.
Through a deep process of research, strategy, and ideation, we completely redesigned the experience under the project “Descubre tu Carrera” (“Discover Your Career”), aligning user needs with conversion and enrollment metrics.
What did the “Descubre tu Carrera” project involve?
We designed and developed “Descubre tu Carrera,” a disruptive digital experience aimed at helping students discover careers aligned with their interests and motivations in a far more dynamic, intuitive, and personalized way. The project involved user research, experience design, continuous validation, and end-to-end technology development, completely rethinking the traditional vocational-test model. The initiative earned international recognition, winning an Effie Award for effectiveness and business results.
What impact did it have on the business?
The platform reached more than 380,000 unique users and cut the average session time from 50 minutes down to just 7 minutes, significantly improving user experience and engagement.
The project also had a direct impact on business results, generating projected revenue of more than USD 750,000 from students enrolled through “Descubre tu Carrera” — establishing itself as a successful case of digital transformation, experience design, and conversion within the education sector.
